WALH: Corvettes!

The next day at WALH Camp was a fun one! Since a lot of people liked staying up late, most activities didn't start until later in the day, so Parker and I had most of the morning to spend getting ready and hanging out. I spent a lot of time making bracelets.

The big event that day were the long awaited Corvette rides! At MDA Camp, people with their Harley Davidson motorcycles came and gave kids rides. At WALH Camp, people got to ride in a Corvette! I only rode once, but the cars were there for a lot of the day, so some people got many rides.

I rode in this red car and it went really fast! It was a lot of fun, but one ride was enough for me. A lot of people went for the Superman car. It was blue on the outside and the seats were red and yellow. My friend Annie took a ride in that one.

Much like the cow motorcycle at MDA Camp, the Superman car was very popular.

Parker had a blast going multiple times! Since the cars went so fast, she decided to have Courtney pull her hair back so it was out of her face that morning. This is the result of that.

As you can see, the ponytail did not stay during the ride and she came back looking like Cousin It. She didn't care though. It's just another memory for us to look back on and laugh.

I can't wait to tell you all about the swimming pool in the next post! Stay tuned for that and more!

WALH: Arrival

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog, or if you're new, welcome! Today is finally going to be the start of the long awaited WALH Camp posts! I'll be going be event, starting with todays post about arrival! Also, you'll be seeing me in lots of different Mickey Mouse ears and Disney shirts because the theme was Disney, which could not have been more perfect for my first year!

When mom and I first arrived, we pulled up the exact same time as my best friend from MDA Camp, Parker! She surprised me with bright green hair which was absolutely gorgeous!

There wasn't much planned for the afternoon since everyone was mostly getting settled into their dorm rooms for the week, so Parker, mom, Courteny who was Parker's helper, and I explored around camp. Since I was new, Parker gave me the grand tour.

At check-in we each got a little welcome bag with coordinates for a geocache. We spent quite a bit looking for the prize, but we couldn't find it. We decided to head back to our room when another group of people who were also searching got stung by some wasps.

After dinner was one of my favorite summer camp traditions-- a campfire! The best part was you could stay out as late as you wanted since at adult camp there is no curfew!

And that was the first day at camp! This is the only post I'll be doing by day since the rest of the week was packed with activities. If you all are curious about the next post, here is a picture of the schedule of the entire week. I can't promise post will be completely in order, but the main events should be mostly in the order I did them in.

Stay tuned for more exciting posts about my week at WALH Camp!

Bracelets!

One of my projects at Camp Createability is making bracelets to sell in the gallery. I have made a lot of bracelets for myself and to send in the mail to friends, so I've gotten really good and making some fun patterns. I've even learned how to make them adjustable and to add a new string to a bracelet that might have some strands turn out too short so I can continue working.

This one a a more detailed take on a normal chevron pattern. I made these to sell since it is football season for Packer fans and Badger fans.

This design may look complicated, but it's actual very easy and can be adjusted to be wider or narrower depending on how many strings are used.

I love making bracelets with color schemes to go with the seasons like these two. They are made with colors associated with fall.

Sometimes when I finish a bracelet, I have lots of extra string that I don't want to waste, especially if I like the colors. If the extra strings aren't long enough for a bracelet, I just use up the leftovers to make a bookmark instead!

These two are the first bracelets I was able to sell. One of the art teacher's I work with at Camp Createability bought them both for her nieces! That was really cool.

I haven't been able to get anymore in the gallery yet because it is still being built and organized at the new location. Hopefully at the grand opening in November all the one's in this post will be out for sale!

Surprise at the Hospital!

Hi everyone! Yesterday I had my pulmonology appointment. I was just expecting a normal wait in the waiting room but that was not the case. There was a very special guest in the waiting room!

Not only did Bucky draw and sign and very good picture of himself, I also got a new Disney stuffed animal! It's Lady from Lady And The Tramp.

It certainly made the wait much more fun. And my pulmonary function test improved by a lot since my last test from over a year ago!
I don't know what and when I'll post next, but I'm sure it'll be amazing!

Three Gaits Lesson: Meet Moon

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since my last post, but the past few months have been a little crazy. I've recently started going to Camp Createability twice a week at the new location, celebrated my brothers 17th birthday in Iowa, (I'm really good at go karts), and had WALH Camp back in July, which I'm still planning on posting about here, but it might be awhile because I have to sort through all my pictures!

Today's post however, will be about what I did this week at Three Gaits! I rode a new horse. His name is Moon. He's a lot taller than I'm used to, so it took me a minute to remember how to get on.

If you look back at previous horse posts about Knox, you can see a pretty big height difference between them.

Since Moon is still new to lessons, I stayed clipped on the lead with my leader, so he wouldn't get confused or anxious, which sometimes happens. I didn't mind though- I was just happy to be on a horse again! During the lesson, I practiced circles and Moon seemed to enjoy those. He loved them so much that sometimes he would try to do a circle when he was supposed to be going in a straight line.

At the end of the lesson, I got to go on a quick trail ride. It was a little chilly, but I didn't mind. It was overall a great first lesson and I loved getting to know Moon.

I don't know when I'll post again, but now that school has started for my siblings, I'll have a little more time to write, so hopefully I can get a more consistent posting schedule down. Until then, have a great start to your fall!

Crochet Projects Galore!

Hi everyone! As some of you may know, I've recently gotten back into crocheting. I had to start with some very beginner patterns once I ...
