Interesting 3 Gaits Class

This week at Three Gaits I had a very interesting lesson. They started me off with Cheyenne, but the second I got on her, she started trying to bite the leader. Emily decided that it wasn't safe for me to be on Cheyenne this week. I was okay with that because I got to ride Knox. I haven't ridden Knox in over a year because he was having some PT for his legs.
Knox was much better behaved than Cheyenne was, but he still had his moments. When I was riding him over the poles on the ground he tripped over one. He was okay, but it made the lesson interesting! He tripped again later over nothing. When the lesson was over and it was time to dismount, I had a hard time getting my leg over because Knox is very wide. After a few tries I did get off, but my legs were tired. Overall, it had been a very exciting and interesting class.

Back at Three Gaits Again!

On Monday afternoon I started riding horses again at Three Gaits. I rode a new horse this week named Cheyenne. Cheyenne doesn't really understand the word "no" yet, but it's something I'm going to work on.
Cheyenne is bigger than most of the horses I've been riding in the past so it was challenging to get up at first, but I did it.
During my first lesson back after the break, I had to work hard to get Cheyenne to stop because she wasn't used to stopping on command. I also had to work to get her to start walking again because if she stopped in front of the gate, she would want to look outside at her friends.
At the end of the lesson, we dismount our horses. That has always been a challenge for me, but it was even harder with Cheyenne because she was taller than I was used to and the back of her saddle was higher than what I normally use. After a couple tries I did get off.
After I got off, I went back to the barn to take off Cheyenne's saddle and to brush her before it was time to go. I tried to lead her back myself, but it was too muddy and icy, so I had help. I can't wait for next lesson!

Latchhook Pillows!

During the pandemic I was running out of things to do to keep busy. That's when I discovered Latch-hook projects.

This flower latch hook took me awhile because of all the changing colors. I got this one on my birthday this year.

I made this snowman one this winter to decorate my bed with during the winter!
Before I made the snowman pillow, I made this penguin pillow! I currently have this one and the snowman on my bed.
For Christmas I made this Santa pillow! I kept this one on my bed for most of December when I finished it.
Of course, if I had Santa, I had to have a couple reindeer to go along with him, so I made this cute reindeer pillow to keep out on my bed too!
Along with making myself pillowcases, I like to make them for my family members. I made this gnome pillowcase for my sister's Christmas present last year because she loves gnomes.
I had a harder time figuring out what to get my brother for his last birthday until I found this skull pillow. He liked it because he calls it "edgy".
I made this dolphin pillowcase for my Eema and Bumpa to take with them to Florida during the winter.
I made this cute llama pillow to keep out during the spring and summer. I like the bright colors and flowers on the background.
Finally, those of you who know me know how much I love horses, so naturally, I had to make a latch hook case with some cute horses. This was the very first pillowcase I made. I also made a pillowcase for my horse back riding instructor, Emily that also has a horse on it.
