Loveless: A Book Review

I recently listened to this incredible story by Alice Oseman as an audiobook and absolutely fell in love with it. The story follows Georgia who’s just starting university life and is struggling a bit to adjust. Partly because of her loud and extroverted roommate Rooney who enjoys clubbing and staying out all night long partying. Georgia prefers a night in with her fanfiction reading. They couldn’t be more opposite. The second reason Georgia has struggles is the fact that everyone she knows seems to be dating and falling in love. While she enjoys reading romantic fanfiction, Georgia isn’t sure if she wants to have romantic relationships in real life. She thinks she does, but she has never had those feelings for anyone before. Between friendship struggles, college struggles, and personal sexuality struggles, Georgia wonders who she really is. And when Rooney begs her to join a Shakespear society her life gets even more chaotic when she witnesses some strong romantic tension between her childhood friend, Pip and her roommate. Her two friends seem to hate each other with their constant bantering, but Georgia has read enough fanfic to know where this is heading. But can she learn to love herself as much as she loves her friends? Read this insightful book to find out!

Birthday Weekend Fun!

 Over my birthday weekend I was very busy and did lots of fun things!

On the day of my actual birthday, my mom was gone on a scrapbooking trip so my dad took me and my siblings to see Puss in Boots: The Last Wish! It was a very good movie and we all enjoyed it.

After the movie, we went to dinner at Olive Garden, which I picked because it was my birthday. I had seafood Alfredo.

On Sunday when my mom got home from her trip, I got to open my presents. My sister gave me Minnie Mouse earrings and a Minnie Mouse necklace for our Disney trip. My brother gave me a new latch-hook pillowcase with flowers on it. My parents gave me a new charm bracelet and a Disney jersey that has all the original characters on the back.

That evening after dinner, I got to have my cake. My sister made that cake on Saturday morning and confined me to my bedroom so I wouldn't see what it was. It was a turtle poke cake and it was very good!

Finally, on Monday I got to get my ears double pierced as another birthday present!

I had a great birthday weekend full of fun surprises!

Christmas Surprise!!

 

This year for Christmas was full of big surprises! We did something different this year for our presents. We did a scavenger hunt to find clues. The first surprise was that we get to go to Florida to visit our Eema and Bumpa during spring break!

But that wasn't all! The next clue led us to a small bag with a few puzzle pieces.

We were all very excited to find out what the puzzle said, but we had to find all the pieces first! We took turns reading clues and looking for each little bag.

After we found all the puzzle pieces and put them together, we were so excited to learn that  not only were we visiting Eema and Bumpa over spring break but we were also going to Disney World! We'll spend a couple days with Eema and Bumpa before heading to Orlando and spending a day at each park, starting at Magic Kingdom!

This might seem like the end of the scavenger hunt, but there were even more surprises in store!

We were thrilled to get T-shirts for each day in the parks, ears, Disney water bottles, 2 gift cards to use for shopping at the parks, and special wristbands to use as tickets!

I can't wait for spring break! I'll be counting down the days until we leave!
